ATSA was established in 1990 and since then has developed a proved track record in the international defense contracting industry. ATSA is a defense service company based in Newcastle, which provides leading edge electronic support for business and government nationally and globally.

This dynamic company with its strong focus on research and development on new technological solutions, with more than 13% of revenues dedicated to R&D annually. The company is known as an essential contributor to Australia's ocean engineering capability, especially in the field of underwater vehicles and systems.

The AIC assisted ATSA through its TechFast Program to secure intellectual property from the Australian National University (ANU) for miniature Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV). With the assistance of the AIC’s TechFast Program, ATSA signed a technology transfer agreement with the ANU and is currently undertaking the transfer of IP related to the Mark II SeaSwarm.
