Blade Electric Vehicles (BEV)

Blade Electric Vehicles (BEV) was the first Australian company to manufacture a commercial electric car. Blade began development of battery electric vehicle (BEV) technology in 2006 at a time when few people thought it either relevant or practical. And in two years Blade manufactured and sold Australia’s first commercially available BEV and was the first to export an Australian made BEVs overseas.

The AIC has substantially contributed to the success of BEV through TechFast Program by helping the company to connect to the key future partners. As a result, BEV signed a contract with Hyundai to supply 200 of the Electrons (refurbished Hyundai Getz as electric vehicle) to New Zealand Hyundai dealers.
