This intensive two hour workshop is tailored to the public health service context and will assist participants in gaining a better understanding of what Intellectual Property (IP) is and the elements involved in the commercialisation process.

The interactive presentation is designed for Gold Coast Health District Services staff whose awareness of IP principles is basic or non-existent.

The workshop also develops commercialisation knowledge and will explore the following areas:

• What is 'IP' and 'Background IP'?
• Why do we want to commercialise only some IP and how to assess a project for commercial potential
• What are the different commercialisation pathways
