Fred Bergman Healthcare (FBH)
FBH is a Melbourne-based company specialising in products that improve the quality and cost of clinical and community care. The company has been working together with the Australian Department of Health and Ageing to trial its SIMPAD (IT-based monitoring system) and to solve the problem of continence management in aged care homes. The system significantly improved the efficiency and cost effectiveness of continence management. FBH won second prize in the health category of the Secrets of Australian ICT Innovation 2006 Awards as a result of work on the SimPADŽ continence monitoring system.
As a start-up company developing its first product SimPADŽ, FBH engaged the AIC through the TechFast program to drive the commercialisation of the project. The AIC facilitated in the development of the business plan, IP strategy and market research, which formed a sound foundation for the next stage of development for the company.
