Enhancing Your Creative Spirit Workshop

Enhancing Your Creative Spirit Workshop

Dr John Kapeleris, the Deputy CEO of the Australian Institute for Commercialisation, facilitated a successful workshop “Enhancing Your Creative Spirit!” at the Ideas Festival 2009 held in Brisbane on Friday 27th March.

Participants learnt 10 ways to enhance their creative spirit and improve their creative thinking. They were also presented with new approaches in generating, evaluating and managing ideas to create value in the market and the community.  John also showcased an example of how to use an “Ideas Journal” to capture and bank ideas that everyone generates daily.

The practical workshop also involved fun activities and puzzles, including the use of Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, mind-mapping, the Why-Why-Why technique, creative visualisation and synectics.  Participants were also exposed to the concept of a Creativity Club and other creative communities such as the Parisian Salons of the 1920s.  Those attending indicated on their feedback that they thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and had a lot of fun, especially with the problem solving activities and examples of ideas that people had unsuccessfully tried to commercialise.
