AIC’s Response to Public Sector Innovation Committee

AIC’s Response to Public Sector Innovation Committee

In its submissions to the Review of the National Innovation System the AIC expressed certain views about innovation in the public sector based on its several years of experience providing various services to government.  Stemming from this submission the AIC was recently invited to provide additional input to a Commonwealth joint-departmental project team investigating options to build and improve the Australian Public Sector’s (APS) capacity to innovate.

The project team released a Discussion Paper to frame the review and can be found at http://www.innovation.gov.au/Section/Innovation/Pages/AdvancingPublicSectorInnovation.aspx.

Led by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research this joint project team will report to the APS Management Advisory Committee with recommended reforms to implement an innovation strategy and embed a culture of innovation throughout the APS.

The AIC welcomes the opportunity to contribute further to the growing public service innovation debate and its full submission is available by clicking here.
