AIC travels to China to secure manufacturing option

AIC travels to China to secure manufacturing option

Cairns-based company Indepth Video & Photography engaged AIC Innovation Coach, Robert Buhrke, to assist with their commercialisation needs in Hong Kong and China.

“When it comes to turning ideas into products, sourcing high quality components and selecting the right contract manufacturer is absolutely essential for most businesses.” Mr Burhke said.

Because no one in Australia manufactured the required components, Indepth Video & Photography asked AIC Innovation Coach, Robert Buhrke, to source electronic components from the world’s largest electronic fair in Hong Kong.

As a result, the required key components could be successfully sourced at the electronics fair and through other direct contacts into Asia.  “The savings resulting from just one of the deals paid easily for the whole trip for the four of us”, said Indepth Video & Photography Director Mark Geddes.

“The savings will help to improve the company’s bottom line for many years to come.” Mr Geddes noted.

>This trip was not about losing jobs in Australia, this is actually creating new and keeping existing jobs.”

Now the business can concentrate on what it does best: design, develop and concentrate on in-house manufacturing of the most critical components.

As a result of partnership between the AIC and Indepth Video & Photography many successful outcomes have been achieved including; the sourcing of key components for innovation new products, building vital relationships with contacts in Asia and achieving a substantial ongoing savings for the business.
