Robert delivers the Innovation Coaching Program in
In short, Robert works mainly with business owners and assists them to innovate, collaborate and successfully grow their businesses through design and development of profitable new products, services and business models.
As an active Innovation Coach and panel member of the Queensland Governments’ Mentoring for Growth program, Robert assists companies with practical and strategic business advice, commercialisation expertise, market research, competitor analysis, business development know-how, Intellectual Property (IP) protection, export marketing, feasibility studies, and access to Government grants.
Before joining the AIC as an Innovation Coach, Robert has held a number of different positions, including CEO, Project Manager, Systems & Software Engineer, Applications & Support Engineer and Electronics Technician.
Robert has a strong and diverse background in Electrical Engineering, IT Systems, Software Development, Business Leadership and Commercialisation. He has designed, developed and installed a broad range of innovative hardware and software solutions for automated quality control, optical inspection and advanced test & measurement systems. After two decades of working mainly in the Industrial Electronics and Manufacturing Industry he shifted his focus more towards SME business development and strategic product innovation.
As a member of various professional organisations and networks, such as the Australian Institute of Management, Queensland Wide Innovation Network, Cairns Chamber of Commerce, Australian Tropical Expertise Consortium and others, Robert’s extensive networks allow him to successfully link clients with the right partners to get additional advice and fast-track the Idea-to-Launch process for new products, services and business models.
Robert holds a Dipl.-Ing. Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mc E.E. and Cp.E.), an Advanced Electro Technical College Degree and various other certificates and qualifications.
