"Blemished fruit at centre of banana forum" North Queensland Register, 2 September 2010
READY-to-eat banana snack packs and a vegemite-like banana spread are two possible products that could be made from blemished bananas that are otherwise wasted.
A steering committee made up of growers, banana industry and government representatives, and food processors is exploring the feasibility of adding value to skin-blemished fruits.
