Message from the AIC  Recent floods

The AIC would like to extend our support to all those who have been affected by the floods in Queensland and Victoria.

As a national organisation with local offices in Queensland and Victoria, the AIC will seek to inform affected businesses about the range of support initiatives being put in place.

We would also encourage affected businesses to contact us to see if we can assist, either with meeting facilities, making arrangements, or temporary assistance.


SUPPORT INITIATIVES:

QLD - State wide

Assistance for primary producers and small business
Special disaster flood assistance grants of up to $25 000 are available to help Queensland primary producers and small businesses who have been affected by the November-December 2010 floods (including those in January 2011). Click here for further information.

 

Queensland flood crisis: what to do next
Ernst & Young are aware of many questions and issues arising about claims and how to manage the financial, physical and other impacts of the floods on your business. A guide has been prepared to provide some advice on the immediate business as well as future considerations that may apply to you as you begin the path to recovery. QLD - Ipswich

Businesses in need of assistance and guidance
As a service to local businesses that have been affected by the floods, the Ipswich and Region Business Enterprise Centre will be holding a daily workshop from 10.00-11.30am at the Barry Jones Auditorium, South St in Ipswich from Monday 17 January for three weeks (Monday to Friday only).

Businesses will receive general advice about clean-up and recovery and personal and business assistance, be able to complete their claim for $5,000 clean-up grants and talk through the $20,000 replacement equipment grant and $250,000 concessional loan application forms. Most importantly, they'll also be able to talk with each other and local business support officers about their experiences. Click here for further information.

QLD Brisbane

Businesses in need of meeting facilities
New Horizons would like to assist organisations that have been affected by the flood by opening up our training courses and facilities for complimentary enrolments. If you have staff whom are unable to get to the office due to flood damage we would like to offer you the ability to send them to New Horizons to attend a training course, without charge. Individuals will be able to attend courses between now and 28th January 2011.

We would also like to open our corporate training/meeting rooms to those in need of facilities to meet with staff members to discuss future business and recovery plans.

We realise that these are minor offerings in the grand scheme of things, however, we hope that it can somewhat assist those on the road to recovery. Financial and Material Assistance

The Victorian Government is coordinating a range of financial assistance for communities that have been affected by the recent heavy rain and floods including clean up and restoration grants. Click here for further information.
