Intellectual Property is an important and strategic business asset for protecting or accessing innovation, securing freedom to operate and for obtaining and maintaining competitive advantage.

The IP Awareness workshop is designed for Queensland SMEs who want to gain a better understanding of Intellectual Property. The workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to identifying, protecting and leveraging intellectual property in your organisation.

Who should attend?
The Intellectual Property Awareness workshop is designed for those who generate or are responsible for managing intellectual property generated within their organisation, or for those who work with clients and stakeholders that generate their own intellectual property. 

Cost
The workshop is free for Queensland SMEs.

Topics
The workshop will be presented by Dr Kymberley Vickery, the AICís patent attorney, who has a wealth of application experience and knowledge. The half-day workshop will cover topics such as:

  • What is intellectual property?
  • How to identify intellectual property?
  • The benefits of intellectual property and the value it generates
  • Different methods and techniques for protecting intellectual property
  • How to leverage your intellectual property and generate value?
