The AIC resource collection
Did you know that the AIC publishes over sixty articles in the media each year? The AIC is a respected think tank as well as a consultancy organisation, and continually contributes to the public debate in
The AIC has recently released several new thought-provoking white papers that are available on our website:
- The Innovation Journey – how are you sailing? Produced in collaboration with the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, this paper explores how small companies progress as they embrace innovation, and includes a quiz that can help anyone understand if they are already innovating, and where they need to head if they are to reap the benefits.
- Innovation requires many forms of collaboration – open innovation or open slather? This provocative paper calls open innovation for what it is, a necessity if firms are to extend their knowledge base and produce world-leading products and services. No single firm can do it alone. However, the paper articulates various modes of open innovation, and warns public research institutes and universities against embracing the seductive notion of universal “open access”
- Environmental Scanning. Environmental scanning for commercialisation involves looking at all the factors that might affect the entry of a new technology or product into the marketplace, and the assessment of these influencing factors for use in business planning. Too often the AIC is approached by entrepreneurs who have been so engrossed in their own invention that they haven’t bothered to look up and look around. This white paper will help.
As well as our own articles and opinion pieces, the AIC also maintains an extensive research library of relevant papers from other authoritative sources around the world. If you’re involved in public policy or just interested in better understanding the economics of commercialisation and of how knowledge makes it to market, our collection could be just the resource you need.
