Eye on Darko Atijas

Darko Atijas is a Project Manager for the Government Innovation Services, a business unit of the AIC. Darko has worked for the AIC since September 2006 on a broad range of Government commercialisation issues.  Darko had previously worked for Queensland Health in the Intellectual Property management and commercialisation area.  Since then, a primary area of expertise has been the negotiation of licensing contracts with Government, GITC negotiation and project management of Collaborative R&D activity between private and public sectors.  

 

Darko’s responsibilities include:  

 

  • promoting strategic management of Government intellectual assets.

     

  • facilitating further development of government owned IP through industry and research collaboration.

     

  • implementing frameworks and mechanisms to encourage better sharing of IP across agencies and with other jurisdictions within Australia .

     

  • developing industry and research linkages with government and across business domains and sectors, both nationally and internationally 

 

Darko has significant experience in strategic commercialisation consulting, tender management, contract negotiation, project communication and technology project stakeholder management.   Darko has a Bachelor of Biotechnology and Bachelor of Economics. Darko has also completed his Master of International Business at Macquarie University with a major in negotiation and conflict resolution.  

 

Darko is a fun, focused, energetic individual.  His combination of interpersonal ability and intuitive business sense catalyse his client’s business outcomes.
