AIC Submission to the Productivity Commission - Increasing Australia's Innovation Output

Although it is generally recognised that innovation underpins future economic growth, Australia lags in most international comparisons on the exploitation of technological innovation. The Chief Economist of the World Economic Forum (WEF) has observed "the highest returns [in Australia’s measure on the WEF’s Growth Competitiveness Index] will come from boosting Australia’s high technology sector".
