The launch event, taking place on 22 April, signifies the start of almost six weeks of events to support and promote the best of Australian innovation and entrepreneurship.
A whole host of activities are taking place across

The Queensland launch event, entitled Research Commercialisation Are we there yet? includes speakers Dr. Rowan Gilmore, CEO of the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC), David Henderson, CEO of Uniquest and Anne-Marie Birkhill, CEO of i.Lab, who will provide their insights on the current state of commercialisation in the state, particularly as it relates to the development of new products or services from university research.
Dr. Rowan Gilmore said that there is a widespread perception in the community that much of our university research is either not relevant to industry or gets lost overseas. This event will critically look at whether that is true or not, while the festival itself will help to remind people how everyone can and should embrace innovation. Innovation is all about creating value from ideas and know-how, not just from research.
Attendance at this launch event is free but registration is essential. Please contact the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC) on +61 7 3853 5292 or e-mail genevieve.langbien@ausicom.com to register your attendance.
